Hi, I’m Chris. I’m the creator of Chris’ Vinyl Picks—a place for people who love discovering great music and believe there’s still something special about listening to records.

Like many collectors, my journey into vinyl started with a desire to slow down. I wanted to spend less time connected to screens and more time enjoying music in a way that felt intentional. Vinyl offered exactly that—an experience where you sit down, put on a record, and give an album your full attention.

What began as a simple hobby quickly became a passion. Today my collection has grown to many hundreds of records spanning jazz, rock, blues, soul, funk, electronic, singer-songwriter, world music and much more. One of my favourite parts of travelling is visiting record stores wherever I go—whether that’s spending days crate digging in Japan or discovering hidden gems in cities around the world.

For me, collecting has never been about owning the rarest records or building the biggest collection. It’s about discovering music that deserves to be heard and albums that you’ll keep coming back to for years. That’s why I started Chris’ Vinyl Picks.

I believe vinyl collecting should be about discovery as much as nostalgia. While there are countless lists of the same classic albums, there are thousands of incredible records that deserve a place on collectors’ shelves. My goal is simple: help collectors discover new music they’ll genuinely love—whether it’s a forgotten jazz masterpiece, an exceptional new release, a beautifully mastered reissue, or an album that sounds incredible on vinyl.

Some of my favourite days are spent wandering record stores with no shopping list and no expectations. Often the records that leave the biggest impression are the ones I knew nothing about before I picked them up. That’s the feeling I hope to recreate here.
